Derderian's reporting has directly contributed to change at the legislative level. One of his investigations into the murder of a visiting nurse led to new safety laws for nurses and home healthcare workers in Connecticut. His journalism is grounded in thorough research, ethical standards, and a strong desire to inform the public. Jeff also contributes to WTNH-TV’s digital and broadcast platforms. His exclusive coverage of a controversial mayoral statement and a high-profile crime story—later picked up by a national outlet—demonstrates his continued focus on impactful, well-sourced stories. He previously reported for News 12 Connecticut in Norwalk, where he concentrated on long-form and investigative segments. Earlier in his career, he worked at WHDH-TV in Boston as a reporter and weekend fill-in anchor for over six years. Derderian was among the first regional journalists to report live from New York following the 9/11 attacks. Before that, he worked at WLNE-TV in Providence, where he led an award-winning investigative segment exposing government waste and corruption and anchored weekend and weekday newscasts. He also hosted a live news and interview show on the radio in Boston, expanding his reach in news media. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Rhode Island College in Providence. Jeff supports several charitable causes. He has contributed to a domestic violence support group in Connecticut. He regularly donates to organizations such as the Salvation Army, Big Sisters, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Food Bank, and the Tomorrow Fund, which provides support to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families.
