Maeve O'Byrne

Hello and welcome. A little about me and my business Cumhacht Coaching & Consulting – Cumhacht means strength or power, it is Irish Gaelic from the land of my ancestors. I like the feeling it gives me, and I hope it is the same feeling you will get when you work with me! I'm an Irish women brought up in the Middle East and now living in Canada, a mixture of cultures and traditions. I’m passionate about easing people through this journey we call life. I coach and mentor individuals and groups supporting people as they excel. I believe that work and personal lives are one and the same, I don’t distinguish what I do as one or the other! My background is varied, I come from the NGO world, having worked 30 years in different parts of the World. More recently I was the Founding President & CEO of a Hospital Foundation on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and prior to that I worked as a development consultant in BC and Alberta. I believe I have a unique perspective on people and the values that drive them. I love connecting people and partners, and I have an appreciation for and of international culture and diversity after living and working in the Middle East, Switzerland, UK, Ireland and Canada. I provide leadership coaching and consulting services to business, individuals, non-profit and Aboriginal groups. We are all unique and sometimes, when a client connects with me, there may not be a fit, and so I am happy to make recommendations to other coaches, who I have worked with in the past. My training and experience also allows me to provide support to a number of local and international organizations on a pro-bono basis, which also feeds my soul and satisfies the call of being of service to those who have lost, or need a voice.
