I serve on the Durham County Board of Health. I am a member of P.E.O and a Life Member of the North Carolina Public Health Association. I worked at the School of Public Health for over 29 years, as continuing education specialist. I perform with the Durham Savoyards and am a member of the North Carolina Citizens for Public Health. In 2009,I was awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest award a citizen can earn for service, in North Carolina. In 2012, my assistance/therapy dog Cassie and I received a Volunteer Service Award from the White House. I joined Judea Reform Congregation in 1973. I have served on the board, and was a lay cantor for 20 years. My daughter, Rebecca Reice is the Rabbi at Congregation Shir Ami, in Cedar Park, Texas.
